A New Era of Wellbeing in Pere Garau
On March 21, we had the pleasure of attending the official opening of SO MALLORCA – a new wellbeing and movement concept that is already redefining Palma’s lifestyle scene.
Located in the evolving neighborhood of Pere Garau, SO MALLORCA is more than just a studio. It is a thoughtfully designed 350-square-metre urban oasis that brings together movement, recovery, community and conscious living – all inspired by the unique lifestyle of Mallorca.
From the very first moment, it was clear: this opening had been highly anticipated. The streets were filled with energy, and guests were lining up outside, eager to step inside and experience the space. There was a sense of excitement that you rarely witness – a mix of curiosity, connection and that unmistakable Palma buzz.
A Vision Rooted in Mallorca

Behind SO MALLORCA is 27-year-old founder Soraya, who returned to the island after several years abroad with a clear vision: to create a space that combines international wellness trends with the soul of Mallorca.
Her connection to the island is deeply reflected in every detail. From the architectural concept to the interior design, she intentionally collaborated with local companies and partners, investing not only a significant six-figure sum but also a tremendous amount of personal dedication into bringing this project to life.
Choosing Pere Garau as a location was no coincidence. The neighborhood, known for its authenticity and cultural diversity, is currently undergoing a visible transformation – making it the perfect setting for a concept that bridges tradition and modern lifestyle.
Movement Meets Modern Wellness
At the heart of SO MALLORCA is a carefully curated movement concept that combines Lagree, Pilates and yoga. A particular highlight is the Lagree method, performed on specialised Megaformer machines imported from Los Angeles – still a rarity on Mallorca.
This low-impact yet highly effective training method focuses on strength, endurance and control, aligning perfectly with the studio’s holistic approach to wellbeing and longevity.
Beyond movement, the concept extends into recovery, bodywork and mindful regeneration – creating a space where guests can not only train but truly recharge.
A Community-Driven Concept
What makes SO MALLORCA truly stand out is its strong focus on community. From the early stages of development, Soraya shared her journey openly on social media, building an engaged international audience that followed the creation of the studio step by step.
This sense of connection was clearly present during the opening. Despite the large crowd, the atmosphere felt personal and welcoming.
Soraya herself greeted guests throughout the event with genuine warmth, taking the time to connect, explain and share her vision. It was not just about presenting a space – it was about inviting people into a community.
Our Experience at the Opening
Being there that evening felt like witnessing the beginning of something special.
The energy outside was incredible – people standing in line, conversations flowing, a sense of excitement building with every minute. Inside, the space unfolded into a bright, carefully designed environment that instantly made you feel at ease.
Guests were invited to join complimentary classes, offering a first hands-on experience of the movement concept. There was a continuous flow of people discovering the studio, trying out sessions and immersing themselves in the atmosphere.
And then, of course, the café.
The superfood café is an essential part of the SO MALLORCA experience, and it did not disappoint. A selection of beautifully presented healthy dishes was complemented by a variety of matcha creations that quickly became a highlight of the event. Fresh, nourishing and thoughtfully curated – perfectly aligned with the studio’s philosophy.
International Spirit Meets Local Soul
From the very beginning, SO MALLORCA has attracted international attention. Collaborations with global brands like lululemon and Sunday Natural underline the studio’s positioning as a modern, globally inspired concept.
At the same time, it remains deeply rooted in Mallorca – a balance that is not easy to achieve, yet feels completely natural here.
A Space That Feels Like the Future of Palma
SO MALLORCA is not just a new opening – it represents a shift in how wellbeing, movement and community are experienced on the island.
It is a place where international lifestyle meets local authenticity, where design meets intention, and where people come together not just to train, but to connect, recharge and be inspired.
We left the opening feeling energized, inspired and certain that this is only the beginning.
SO MALLORCA is a space we will definitely return to – and one we will be watching closely as it continues to grow and shape Palma’s evolving wellbeing scene.
