Workshop: Nutrition & Sport with Gemma Bes

Thursday · May 28, 2026 · 18:30 — 19:45

A practical and easy-to-follow workshop designed to help you understand how to eat according to your training, improve your performance, and support recovery.

If your goal is to have more energy, achieve a better body composition (especially a healthy balance of muscle mass and body fat), and reduce the risk of injuries, this workshop is for you.

During the session, you will learn how to adapt your nutrition to different types of training — strength, endurance, or mixed workouts — what to eat before and after exercise to perform better, how to manage glucose levels to avoid energy crashes, and which supplements are scientifically proven to work and which are not worth your money.

You will also learn how to create balanced meals for both training days and rest days, which sources of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats work best at each stage, and how to organize your week to optimize performance without disrupting your digestion or schedule. Hydration — a key factor for both performance and health — will also be covered.

We will review meal plans for both omnivores and vegetarians, including recipes, as well as healthy snacks and examples of natural isotonic drinks, recovery drinks, and energy bars.

At the end of the workshop, you will have the opportunity to join me for dinner at Mouna, where we will move from theory to practice with a menu dedicated to sports nutrition.

Please note: Dinner capacity is limited to 18 participants who have previously registered for the workshop.

About Gemma Bes

After 23 years of experience, I have seen how a good nutritional approach helps people improve their quality of life, prevent disease, and, above all, feel happier.

I provide nutritional guidance for elite athletes, including players from professional teams such as RCD Mallorca and Arabay, amateur cycling teams, and the Spanish National Dance Company.

I also advise companies such as Cantabria Labs in the research and development of sports supplements.

I lead the Nutrition Department at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Manacor, teach classes, and direct the Master’s Degree in Nutrition at Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio.

As nutrition is a science in constant evolution, it requires continuous research, education, and the integration of knowledge from both Western medicine and ancient traditions such as Chinese, Ayurvedic, and Tibetan medicine. My frequent travels to Asia are focused on learning from these ancestral practices.

One of the most important milestones in my career was being part of the Rafa Nadal Foundation in Anantapur in 2015, where I developed a nutritional program for young tennis players, ensuring their essential nutritional and medical needs were met. I also created an energy and protein powder made from local ingredients to support their training sessions.

Since 2009, I have been running my own company, developing innovative almond-based products through Ametlla de Mallorca.
