Seassence is a Mallorca-made slow fashion brand that transforms retired boat sails into durable, one-of-a-kind bags and accessories. The project is rooted in circular design: instead of letting heavy, high-performance sailcloth go to waste, Seassence gives it a new life through thoughtful pattern-making, careful stitching, and small-batch craftsmanship.
Founded by Mallorcan designer Mar Carbonell, the brand began after discovering how many old sails were sitting unused across the island. Working with a single, unusually large sail (over 300 kg), she experimented with the material until it became the basis of a signature collection. Each piece is cut from a different section of sailcloth, meaning every bag is naturally unique in markings, texture, and character.
