La Guilda Cerámica

Ceramics and sculpture school in Palma with monthly courses and short workshops—slow craft, local artistry, and gift vouchers.

Description

La Guilda Cerámica is a welcoming ceramics and sculpture school in Palma de Mallorca, created to celebrate slow craft, hands-on learning, and the quiet joy of making something with your own hands. Founded by Julio and Elisa—who studied art and design at the Royal Academy of Antwerp and lived in cities including London, Lisbon, Buenos Aires, and Copenhagen—the studio was born from a desire to support local craftsmanship through education and a relaxed, community-feel learning environment.

Located close to Teatre Xesc Forteza, La Guilda offers a clear pathway for beginners while still leaving plenty of room for personal projects and creative exploration. The format is practical and guided: you learn core construction techniques, gain confidence with materials and processes, and then develop your own ideas with teacher support. Since 2018, the studio has been running regular monthly courses as well as shorter monographic sessions and compact workshops.

What you can book

  • Intro workshop (3h 30m): a longer beginner-friendly session, typically held Saturdays at 10:00.
  • 2-hour workshops: ideal for a shared plan with friends; everything is included and you can decorate a mug on the same day.
  • Monthly course: 4 classes per month (2h/week), with several weekday and Saturday timetable options.
  • Gift vouchers: flexible “bonos regalo” in different hour packages, subject to availability.

For makers who already work with clay, La Guilda also provides a kiln-firing service (for students and external clients, depending on workload). They bisque fire to cone 07 (985°C) and glaze fire to cone 03 (1085°C). External materials require prior approval, and collections are handled during studio hours.

Best for: visitors and locals seeking a grounded, creative ritual in Palma—less screen time, more tactile presence, and a supportive studio atmosphere.
