Forn de sa LLotgeta: Market tour + traditional cooking workshop

April 1 @ 10:30 am - 2:30 pm

Discover the essence of Mallorca through its flavors, traditions and local culture in this immersive market-to-table cooking experience in the heart of Palma.

The journey begins at Mercado del Olivar, the city’s largest and most vibrant market, where you’ll step into the rhythm of everyday Mediterranean life. Just minutes away from the atelier, this lively space offers a rich sensory introduction to the island’s culinary heritage.

Guided through colorful stalls of fresh produce, fish and regional delicacies, you’ll meet local vendors and hand-select seasonal ingredients that will later become part of your menu.

What to Expect

After the market visit, you’ll move to a private atelier for a hands-on cooking workshop, where tradition meets creativity.

Together, you’ll prepare a complete seasonal Mallorcan menu, guided step by step in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere:

  • Learn about local ingredients and traditional cooking techniques
  • Actively participate in preparing each dish
  • Enjoy the process as much as the final result

The experience concludes with a shared lunch, where you’ll taste everything you’ve created – accompanied by carefully selected local wines.

Sample Menu

  • Local cold meats and artisan cheeses with grapes and almonds
  • Traditional Mallorcan flatbread with greens and raisins
  • Artichoke & sobrasada rice, slow-cooked in a clay pot (greixonera)
  • Gató (almond cake) with almond ice cream

All ingredients are locally and sustainably sourced, reflecting the authenticity of the island’s cuisine.

The Experience

More than a cooking class, this is a cultural and sensory journey into Mallorcan life.

From the lively energy of the market to the intimacy of the atelier, the experience invites you to slow down, connect and engage with food in a meaningful way.

It’s about understanding not just how dishes are prepared, but the stories, traditions and people behind them.
